Coder Brings Ordinals to Litecoin as Bitcoin Inscriptions Surpass 154K

Image
Ordinal Inscriptions and the ability to mint content other than transactions on the Bitcoin network have taken the blockchain by storm, with over 154,000 inscriptions being made to date, according to Dune analytics. Now, a developer has made the Ordinals project work for the proof-of-work blockchain Litecoin. Launched in 2011, Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that is meant to process transactions faster than Bitcoin. Charlie Lee, a former Google employee, made Litecoin. He sold all of his Litecoin in 2017 to avoid potential conflicts of interest. Indigo Nakamoto, a fake Twitter user, offered 5 LTC (around $500) to anyone who could move Ordinals to the Litecoin blockchain on February 10. On Sunday, software engineer Anthony Guerrera started the Litecoin Ordinals project on GitHub. He did this by forking the Bitcoin Ordinals repository that Casey Rodarmor posted in January.

NFT Platform for eBay Launch of the Creator Smart Contract by KnownOrigin

Image
In a tweet from February 16, KnownOrigin, eBay's nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace, said that it will start using creator smart contracts for its artists. As co-creators, artists can now share profits and get royalties under the new deal. According to KnownOrigin, users have been testing the Creator Contract beta release for the past few weeks. So far, 84 contracts have been deployed and 250 editions of NFTs have been made. From February 24, all approved KnownOrigin creators will be able to deploy and mint their own work for public distribution. No coding skills will be needed for deployment. In June 2022, eBay bought KnownOrigin for an amount that is not known. The Ethereum-based platform wants to "empower artists and collectors by giving them the ability to promote, sell, and buy unique, authorized digital things," says the platform's co-founder, David Moore. Since May 2021, NFT listings have been allowed on eBay's direct marketplace. The business hasn't ...

Trading on Rihanna Music NFTs Is Suspended by Opensea

Image
OpenSea's decision to halt secondary sales of the NFT collection for Rihanna's song "Bitch Better Have My Money" has infuriated NFT collectors, who are already reeling from the internet's reaction to her electric Super Bowl performance. Last Monday, the Web3 music service AnotherBlock allocated 0.99% of the song's total revenues to 300 Ethereum NFTs. In 2015, Jamil "Deputy" Pierre, one of the song's producers, contributed to the song's co-production and gave a piece of his earnings to the blockchain. Who knows Rihanna's level of awareness of the collection? The NFT collection sold out quickly last week, generating around $63,000 in revenue and granting purchasers a percentage of future streaming royalties from the master recording. Two days later, on the eve of Rihanna's Super Bowl appearance, AnotherBlock CEO Michel "bigmich" Traore announced in the project's Discord server that users could no longer trade NFTs on Ope...

Image
People know that Paris Hilton loves the metaverse. She now hopes that her dating experience in "Parisland," which was released in The Sandbox game, will inspire other people to find love in the game as well. On February 13, gamers who enter Parisland will be able to meet five other players virtually before they complete missions and choose a partner. According to a statement, the gamified experience is being billed as an “imaginary reality show” in the metaverse. Besides hitting on random strangers online, activities in Parisland include shopping for outfits, selecting wedding rings, investigating a secret inside a burger (yes, really), and “rescuing a castaway.”  Read more at https://decentral1sed.com/blogs/metaverse-news/paris-hilton-will-introduce-the-parisland-metaverse-dating-service-in-the-sandbox

Players of Yuga Labs’ Dookey Dash Are Paying Thousands of Dollars for High Scores

Image
"Dookey Dash" by Yuga Labs has its fair share of boosters and cheaters, as do all games. There are reports that some players are exploiting the mint-based game in order to climb the scoreboard. Some "boosters" of Dookey Dash continue to boast that their clientele have not yet been discovered elsewhere. In video games, boosters are paid players who get access to their clients' accounts in order to enhance their rank, often via the use of cheats or other unfair means. One of these "boosting" companies notified Decrypt that it costs a minimum of 0.25 ETH, or $420, for a score of 250,000 or higher, and that the price increases to 2.5 ETH, or $4,200, for a score of over 700,000. The in question boosting service stated that it had not cheated to get the promised high results.

NFL and Reddit Release Super Bowl LII Collectible Avatars

Image
Reddit's collectible avatars, (which are manifestly not NFTs), have returned. After teasing it last week, the NFL and the social media platform debuted the Super Bowl LVII x Reddit Collectible Avatar collection yesterday. The NFTs are free and, like previous Reddit drops, provide owners with particular site perks. Users have the option of minting artifacts for the Eagles, Chiefs, The Champs, and LVII Super Fans, among others. One minting is permitted per Reddit account. To date, over 651 800 avatars have been created. The collection presently trades for 0.00002 ETH on OpenSea and generated a trading volume of 3 ETH. In 2022, when Reddit issued its first NFT collections, media attention was gathered. The CryptoSnoos NFTs, also known as Collectible Avatars, were produced by both independent artists and Reddit developers based on Snoo, the social media network's mascot. The avatars granted their owners a type of CC0 license, allowing them to use the avatars anyway they wished, a...

Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton Collaborate to Launch NFTs

Image
Yayoi Kusama, a 93-year-old Japanese modern artist, collaborates with the international fashion house Louis Vuitton for the introduction of 10,000 NFTs. In honor of Louis Vuitton's 200th anniversary, these non-financial tokens can be converted into actual items. Using the prices of NFTs from other luxury companies as a comparison, analysts predict that the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama NFT collaboration will cost around 4 ETH. Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton have once again cooperated after a decade. Under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs, the inaugural Yayoi Kusama collaboration with Louis Vuitton in 2012 incorporated the artist's signature polka dots on LV bag forms.
